Pope Francis will not come to Argentina so Argentine survivors will go to him.
New organization of Argentine survivors intends to send a delegation to Rome, led by deaf survivors of Mendoza and La Plata.
Pope said today he does not intend to return to Argentina.
Survivors will be asking Argentine papal ambassador to Rome to arrange the meeting.
Who: Leaders of groups of Argentine survivors of clergy sexual abuse and a leader who launched a new Argentine organization of survivors this Sunday. They will be joined by global leaders from Ending Clergy Abuse (ECA).

What: Leaders who are survivors of clergy sexual abuse will release and discuss a letter from Argentine survivors to Pope Francis demanding that he meet with survivors from his home country. In his six years as Pope, Francis has refused to meet with survivors of Argentina, although he has done so with victims from other countries. If Pope Francis, they say, will not come to them, they will go to him.
The letter will be sent Tuesday to the Argentine Ambassador to the Holy See, Rogelio Francisco Emilio Pfirter in Rome. Victims are asking the Ambassador to begin preparations for the meeting.
Survivors want to report to the Pope on the state of the clergy abuse crisis in Argentina, their experiences with bishops and church officials when cases have come forward and how they have been treated, along with their concerns about the lack of zero tolerance in Argentina for both sexual abuse of children by clergy and documented actions of cover up of cases and obstruction of civil justice by the Argentine hierarchy. Victims are also seeking from the Pope clarity about his own involvement with offender priests while in Argentina and since becoming Pope.
Survivors will also discuss cases in the La Plata diocese and steps that must be taken to ensure justice for victims in that diocese, especially its deaf survivors.

Una nueva organización de sobrevivientes argentinos pretende enviar una delegación a Roma, encabezada por sobrevivientes sordos de Mendoza y La Plata.
Los sobrevivientes pedirán al embajador papal argentino en Roma que organice la reunión.

Qué:
Los líderes, sobrevivientes de abuso sexual clerical lanzarán y discutirán una carta de los sobrevivientes argentinos al Papa Francisco para pedirle que se reúna con sobrevivientes de su país de origen.
En sus seis años como Papa, Francisco se ha negado a reunirse con sobrevivientes de Argentina, aunque lo hizo con víctimas de otros países. Si el Papa Francisco no viene, ellos irán a él.
Ayer el Papa Francisco dijo en su reunión con los obispos argentinos que no regresará a Argentina.
La carta será enviada el martes al embajador argentino ante la Santa Sede, Rogelio Francisco Emilio Pfirter en Roma. Las víctimas le pedirán al embajador que comience los preparativos para la reunión.
Los sobrevivientes quieren informar al Papa sobre el estado de la crisis de abuso clerical en Argentina, sus experiencias con los obispos y los funcionarios de la iglesia cuando se han presentado casos, la manera que han sido tratados, junto con sus preocupaciones sobre la falta de tolerancia cero que hay en Argentina, el abuso sexual de niños por parte del clero, así como las acciones documentadas de encubrimiento de casos y la obstrucción de la justicia civil por parte de la jerarquía argentina.
Las víctimas también están buscando claridad de parte del Papa sobre su propia participación con los sacerdotes delincuentes mientras estuvo en Argentina y desde que se convirtió en Papa.
Los sobrevivientes también discutirán los casos de la diócesis de La Plata y los pasos que deben tomar para garantizar la justicia para las víctimas en esa diócesis, especialmente para sus sobrevivientes sordos.
